This Personal page is to help you know more about me as an individual outside the realm of dentistry, and for me to share some of my hobbies, interests, and passions with you!
I married my godly, beautiful, charismatic, firecracker of a wife, Jesse, in May of 2011. We love to sing together, play board and card games, go to movies (and then quote those movies for the next 2 weeks), spend time in community, travel, and simply enjoy life with each other!
Jesse is an Elementary education major and got her degree from UNT Dallas in 2015. Her first year of teaching was 6th Grade Math and Science in Mesquite, Tx, but she has been involved with kids for as long as anyone can remember whether babysitting, leading children’s choir at church, or volunteering in the children’s ministry and nursery. Jesse will be teaching 6th-8th grade Math and Science at Cornerstone Christian Academy in Granbury starting August of 2016.
An unexpected change to our plans, but Jesse is also a part of the Lakeview Dental team now! As usual, she has picked things up very quickly both assisting chairside as well as managing things up front!
It is clear to see that teaching is definitely Jesse’s vocational ministry. She truly has a passion for children and goes above and beyond to make sure that each child’s unique and individual needs are met and to make learning fun!
Chances are good that if you’ve spent any amount of time around me that I’ve had a book in my hand. I read most anything, but my favorite genres currently are Sci-fi and Fantasy with the occasional Mystery/Thriller sprinkled in. Some of my favorite authors include: Patrick Rothfuss, Brandon Sanderson, Jim Butcher, Lee Child, Christopher Paolini, J. K. Rowling, J.R.R. Tolkien, and C.S. Lewis.
Recently read: Currently reading:
-The Codex Alera Series -The Leader’s Code
by Jim Butcher by Donovan Campbell
-Make Me -The Way of Kings
by Lee Child by Brandon Sanderson
Other than an excuse to wear ridiculous looking clothing, powerlifting is something I have trained for and competed in since high school. It’s a great way to stay in shape, meet new people, and to blow off some steam! And also very rewarding and challenging to set new goals and strive to achieve them in a measurable way.
I competed in a competition in Fort Worth in October of 2015 (my last deadlift attempt of 440lbs shown), and I am planning on going back to that same one this Fall. I love having goals to work towards and I look forward to seeing how I improved in the last year!
